Kerry + Mike

The Story

It all started on July 18, 2013…

Kerry had a job at ADP in sales. On a hot summer day in July, Kerry had a meeting at G3 Communications in Hasbrouck Heights. As Kerry was walking into her meeting, she saw a handsome young guy coming out of the hallway bathroom. He definitely caught her eye. Luckily, he held the door open for her. She decided she needed to say something quick and did not want to say the standard “Thank you.” Kerry noticed this guy’s shirt; it had a different color pocket. So she quickly blurted out, “Nice pocket!” Was it an unusual compliment? Yes, but it caught the attention of the marketing guy, Mike.

After their initial meeting, Mike decided to connect with the ‘nice pocket’ girl on LinkedIn. Now if she had said the standard, “Thank you” Mike may not have made a move. But that pocket comment was unique, and Mike wanted to see if he had a chance with the cute ADP girl. So, he messaged her. The two began messaging back and forth all day long. Those LinkedIn messages turned into nonstop text messages. They were hitting it off!

It was a beautiful night on September 18, 2013 when they finally met up for a drink at Shannon Rose in Clifton, NJ. The connection was real, and the conversation flowed so naturally. They sat at the bar for hours. At the end of the night, there was an awkward hug that still makes Kerry blush to this day. But, the dates continued, and their relationship flourished. They eventually met each other’s families and became a serious couple. After two years of dating, Kerry and Mike moved into an apartment in Montclair, NJ where they still live today.

This past summer Kerry and Mike went on a vacation of a lifetime in Europe stopping by Portugal, Spain, and Ireland. Mike decided to propose at the end of the two week trip in Howth by the beautiful, breathtaking landscape of Ireland (pictured below).

Of course, she said yes!
